Awayly is designed to be straightforward. Employees can request leave, see their own allowance and track request status from phone or desktop.
Employees, managers & roles
Do you charge per employee?
No. Employees and managers are unlimited on the £14/month plan.
What can employees do in Awayly?
Employees can request permitted time-off types, see their own holiday allowance, view upcoming leave, follow request status and see relevant team availability.
What can managers do?
Managers can review requests, see potential clashes, approve or decline leave, record absences where appropriate and use the team calendar to understand availability.
What can owners and admins control?
Owners and admins can manage people, roles, company holiday settings, working patterns, time-off types, permissions and billing.
Holiday & absence management
Can employees request sickness themselves?
Company admins choose which time-off types employees are allowed to request. Annual leave can be employee-requestable while sickness, appointments or other types can be manager-recorded if that suits your company.
Can different absence types use different holiday rules?
Yes. Each time-off type can have its own default allowance behaviour, approval requirement, employee-request permission and half-day setting. Managers can also record an absence with the appropriate allowance treatment.
Can Awayly handle part-time staff?
Yes. Employee working days can be configured so time-off calculations reflect each person’s working pattern.
Can different employees have different holiday allowances?
Yes. Awayly supports a company default allowance and individual allowance overrides where someone has a different entitlement.
Can Awayly track sickness and appointments as well as annual leave?
Yes. Company admins can configure sickness, appointments, unpaid leave, training and other custom time-off types alongside annual leave.
Does Awayly support half-day leave?
Yes. Half-day bookings can be enabled for time-off types where they are appropriate.
Approvals & team visibility
Does Awayly include a team calendar?
Yes. The calendar shows approved absences across the team and supports department filtering. On mobile, upcoming absences are presented in a clear list.
Can managers see holiday clashes?
Awayly can show potential clashes with other approved or pending time off so managers have more context before making a decision.
Will managers be emailed when someone requests leave?
Awayly includes operational email notifications for key time-off actions such as requests, approvals, declines and cancellations.
Can employees see whether their request has been approved?
Yes. Employees can see the status of their own time-off requests and keep track of pending, approved and declined leave.
Is there an activity log?
Yes. Owners and admins can review important changes and decisions across the company account.
