Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 8 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of Awayly, a hosted holiday and absence management software service operated by Michael Wood | Web & Automation in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating or using an Awayly account, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, the organisation you represent.
1. About Awayly
Awayly provides tools for managing employees, holiday allowances, time-off requests, approvals, absences, team calendars, company settings, activity records, email notifications and related account administration. Features may develop over time.
2. Business use
Awayly is intended primarily for businesses and organisations managing workplace absence. The person creating an organisation account confirms that they have authority to act for that organisation and to invite or manage its users.
3. Free trial
New organisations may receive a 14-day free trial. No payment card is required to begin the current standard trial. Trial availability, length or eligibility may be changed for future sign-ups, but any active trial will be governed by the terms shown when it was started.
At the end of the trial, continued full use of Awayly requires an active paid subscription. If no subscription is activated, access may become restricted or read-only and may later be suspended in accordance with these terms.
4. Subscription price
The standard Awayly subscription is currently £20 per month for the organisation account. The current plan includes unlimited employees and managers and access to the current Awayly feature set. Unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout, there is no setup fee or per-user charge.
Any taxes that are legally required will be shown or handled as applicable. If pricing changes in the future, we will give existing paying customers reasonable notice before a changed price applies to a future billing period.
5. Stripe payments and recurring billing
Subscription payments are processed securely by Stripe. When you activate a paid subscription, you authorise Stripe to charge the selected payment method on a recurring monthly basis until the subscription is cancelled or terminated.
We do not store your full payment-card number or card security code on Awayly servers. Stripe processes payment information under its own terms and privacy practices.
6. Invoices and receipts
Billing information, payment methods and previous invoices or receipts may be available through the Stripe Customer Portal linked from Awayly. You are responsible for keeping billing information current.
7. Cancellation
Awayly is a monthly subscription with no fixed minimum subscription term unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. You may schedule cancellation through the billing area. Where cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing period, access normally continues until that period ends.
Payments already made are not normally refunded for a partially used billing period, except where required by law or agreed by us in writing.
8. Failed or overdue payments
If a recurring payment fails or becomes overdue, Stripe may retry the payment and Awayly may show a payment issue. We may restrict changes, make the account read-only, suspend access or terminate the subscription if payment remains unresolved. We will aim to provide reasonable notice where practical.
9. User accounts and security
You must provide accurate account information, keep login credentials secure and ensure users only receive the access appropriate to their role. You are responsible for activity carried out through authorised accounts unless caused by a failure for which we are responsible.
You must notify us promptly if you believe an account or credential has been compromised.
10. Your organisation data
Your organisation remains responsible for the lawful collection and use of employee and absence information entered into Awayly. You decide what data is entered, who can access it and how it is used within your organisation.
We process organisation data only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, support and improve Awayly, comply with law, or follow documented instructions. More detail is provided in the Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.
11. Sensitive absence information
Absence reasons can reveal sensitive information. Organisations should avoid entering unnecessary medical or special-category personal data and should limit access to staff who genuinely require it. Awayly is not a medical-record system.
12. Acceptable use
You must not use Awayly to break the law, infringe rights, upload malicious code, probe or attack systems, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with other customers, scrape or reverse engineer protected parts of the service, or use the platform in a way that could damage its security or availability.
13. Availability and maintenance
We aim to keep Awayly available and reliable, but continuous uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, security work, provider outages, internet failures or events outside our reasonable control may occasionally affect access.
14. Backups and recovery
We use reasonable operational measures intended to protect and recover service data. Backups are for resilience and are not a substitute for any records your organisation is legally required to retain independently.
15. Third-party services
Awayly relies on third-party providers such as hosting, email-delivery, security and payment providers. Their availability and terms may affect parts of the service. Stripe is responsible for processing card payments through its services.
16. Intellectual property
Awayly, its code, design, branding, documentation and underlying software remain the intellectual property of Michael Wood | Web & Automation or its licensors. Your subscription gives authorised users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the hosted service while the account is permitted to access it.
17. Account suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of non-payment, serious misuse, security risk, unlawful use, material breach of these terms or a legal requirement. Where appropriate, we will try to give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
18. Data after closure
After an account ends, we may retain data for a limited period for recovery, security, legal or operational reasons before deletion or anonymisation. Customers should request any needed export before closure where an export option is available or by contacting us.
19. Support
Reasonable product support is included with the standard subscription. Support does not include bespoke software development, custom integrations, data-entry services or work outside Awayly unless separately agreed.
20. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to that, Awayly is provided as a business software tool and you remain responsible for employment decisions, HR policies, statutory leave obligations, payroll decisions and compliance with employment or data-protection law.
We are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of anticipated savings, or loss arising from inaccurate information entered by users, to the extent permitted by law.
21. Changes to Awayly or these terms
We may update Awayly and these terms as the service develops, providers change or legal requirements evolve. Material changes affecting existing customers will be communicated where reasonably appropriate.
22. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction unless applicable law requires otherwise.
