Employee Breakdown & Future Holiday Planning

Awayly now includes detailed employee absence breakdowns, previous-year history, future holiday planning, and year-by-year bank holiday and shutdown scheduling.

Employee Breakdown

Owners and admins can now view a full yearly breakdown for each employee.

The new Employee Breakdown area makes it easy to review:

  • Annual leave taken and booked
  • Sickness days and separate sickness occasions
  • Bank holidays
  • Company shutdown days
  • Other absence types
  • Remaining holiday allowance
  • Employee working patterns
  • Exact dates for every recorded absence
  • Previous years as well as the current year
  • Future bookings

Each employee has their own yearly dashboard with a visual month-by-month absence graph and a detailed absence history underneath. Employers can also switch between the full picture and employee absence only, making it easier to separate personal absence from company-wide bank holidays and shutdowns.

Individual records clearly show whether leave has already been taken, is booked for the future, or relates to a company closure.

Plan future holiday years

Awayly now makes it easier to prepare for the year ahead too.

Employers can switch between different years within Bank Holidays & Closures and configure the company calendar in advance. For each future year you can:

  • Review official bank holidays
  • Choose which bank holidays your business will actually close for
  • Add Christmas or other company shutdown periods
  • Decide whether shutdown days should use employee holiday allowance
  • Plan closures that continue into the following year

This means companies can prepare their 2027, 2028 and future holiday calendars before the year begins.

Control future holiday booking

Awayly now gives companies control over whether employees can book leave into future holiday years.

Owners and admins can choose whether future-year booking is enabled and, if so, how many holiday years ahead employees are allowed to book. When future booking is enabled, employees can select an available future holiday year when requesting time off.

If an employee books leave for next year, Awayly calculates it against that year’s allowance, rather than reducing their current year’s remaining holiday. Future bookings also respect the bank holidays and company shutdowns already configured for that year.

This means each business can decide whether employees should only book within the current holiday year or whether they can plan one, two or three years ahead.

If future-year booking is disabled, employees remain limited to the current holiday year, while owners and admins can still prepare future bank holidays, shutdowns and employee leave in advance.

Overall, the update gives employers a much clearer historical record of who was away and when, while also making it easier to prepare future holiday years and control how far ahead employees are allowed to plan leave.
